Wedding bells are ringing loudly. –

Popular player ‘the Caravan’ -Jake Rush tied the knot on Saturday . When the lovely Jess took to the microphone to give her vows, was anyone surprised ? to hear I WILL SHARE YOU WITH THE TABLE TENNIS CLUB ON MONDAYS TUESDAYS WEDNESDAYS & SATURDAYS . Ahhh come on Jess, how about Sundays and Thursdays ?

John Alder our immediate past President also decided to get married on Saturday to the wonderful Rhonda, in Ballarat, where they now live.

CONGRATULATIONS to both couples from everyone associated with Coburg Table Tennis CLub.

FAREWELL AND THANKS TO BRUCE BAULCH

After serving Coburg table tennis club as a player, committee member and long time President, Bruce Baulch has decided to call it a day.

The club thanks Bruce for his contribution to the club and the sport of Table Tennis.

He is a life member of the club and a club legend ‘ for his many years of service.

Tis web site will be updated with a more detailed story about Bruce’s contribution in the near future.

On behalf of every Coburg table tennis player and member we thank Bruce Baulch for his efforts in helping make this club great.

THE SCRUFFET CLUB ON THE EXPAND

the Scruffet club has been barren of new members for a while now.
But it seems to be on the improve in 2020.

Michael Najda is the latest player to be granted entry as was Mark Bertuzzi.

So how do you gain entry to this exclusive club ?

LOSE TO SCRUFFY IN COMP ! Simple as that -then you are a member for life !

Led by Brian Zammit there is a long list of those who have succumbed to the pressure of being a future Scruffet. -Kay -Khizar-Colonel Connor Maria- Bradley and many others.

Coronavirus – updated advice to players – 14 day self isolate policy

Australian Government Health has updated its advice regarding Coronavirus as of
February 1, 2020:
▪ … all travellers arriving out of mainland China (not just Hubei Province) [are]
asked to self-isolate for a period of 14 days from the time they leave mainland
China.
Consequently, Coburg Table Tennis Club requests that, until further notice, anyone who
has recently visited China avoid coming down to the club until 14 days have lapsed from
their date of departure from China and provided they are not symptomatic.

New appeals policy

The Coburg Table Tennis Club committee has approved a process whereby an appeal can be lodged against a decision taken by the club’s Disciplinary Sub-Committee. This policy can be accessed here.

Introducing David Griffiths, our acting Director of Coaching

David Griffiths is enthusiastic about helping people have fun and improve their health through sport and fitness. He has coached table tennis at all levels, including  clubs, schools, and aged care facilities. His role at Coburg is to organise structured coaching programs for individuals and groups. As well as table tennis, his interests include sports psychology, resistance training, and nutrition.

David’s representative honours include Australian Vets Over 50’s, Victorian Vets Over 50’s, Kent (in UK County Championships), and Wales Juniors.

TUESDAY COMP IS BACK ! ROUND 1

Summer/Autumn round 1 and in Section 1 the much anticipated match between Chrysler & Chrysela who will take on the newly promoted Jason & the evergreen Fitzy who makes his return.
We also note that Craig has his chance to avenge his recent loss to the ‘Butterfly Bouchard who floats around the courts. Liao on his return from overseas duties will play the Mustang

Section 2 – John and Jimbo will play Abdul and the returning Kenan. Another feature match will see players in their return or promotion to Section 2 when Adrien and Francis play against Stephen & Ben.

Section 3 -The match of high interest is Dylan & Ramez against Adreas & Steve the Jumping Jack

Section 4- Ayman and Khizar play the Reunion, Prez Brian and his apprentice Allan

Section 5 – Sanjay and Ken both freshly promoted play Vangel & Chrissy

Section 6 – Suat & Biagio play the newly promoted Flash the Coffee & ‘the other Jim

STRETCHed TO THE MAX ? HIGH EXPECTATIONS

Maybe his elevator did not make the Penthouse ?

Whatever it is, all will be unveiled tomorrow at 1-30pm when the ‘new look’ Stretch challenges Jim as in Marks own words he has declared that’ he has Jim worked out’.
