SPECIAL DAY AT KEENAGERS

We thank Ryman Health for their continued support. Their Health /Stroke truck was in the car park and many Keenagers took advantage of it to have their blood pressure taken and a health . check done .
Many thanks to Jennifer & franca wo als took the time to come and visit the club.
PLUS we were blessed by royalty as Jim made his first visit to Keenagers. The ‘Sledge Hammer’ did not have a hit as he was here on a more important task. AMANDA from ABC National Radio was at the club interviewing some of our over 50’s and Jim was first cab off the rank. Bonny Hannie, John swift (85 years old ) Mel, Bill Mac & frank were also interviewed. Amanda then ventured onto the courts to interview Patsy & Jan and have a bit of a hit .

Now its the hard task for Amanda and her crew to edit all the info they have gained today.

The interviews will go to air in January or february and the link will be shared on this web site.

Many hands make light work and afterwards lets go to DRUMs hotel for a meal.,

I will keep regular updates on the web site as to when I will re open but it wont happen until the floors have been fully re waxed.

SO TELL ME WHEN YOU CAN HELP TO SET UP THE COURTS ? Sunday afternoon . – 5th January at 4pm maybe ? then you guys can have a short session until 6pm ?

But if not enough interest it will be 6pm Monday the 6th -and players will do it when they come in !

THURSDAY JUNIOR PROGRAM

Ivo and Brian have been stoic in their commitment to the Junior program. Plenty of kids and not too much help from our members on a regular basis.

With so many new juniors, they have even continued the program into DECEMBER. However they do need a break – JANUARY 9-16-23- & 30TH – I want the program to continue to run SO WHO IS GOING TO PUT UP THEIR HAND AND VOLUNTEER (more the merrier) for 4 Thursdays for an hour at a time 6-30pm to 7-30pm ?

We have plenty of new talent wanting to play, lets hope we can coach them

FRIDAY CHRISTMAS COMP

Friday Christmas Competition just got expanded to flow into February. 4 extra teams means both Sections are now 8 teams strong

This is not restricted to regular friday night players -Great to have Omer fill in this week. Lower ranked players are paired with experienced higher ranked players than they would normally compete against.

and i will REQUIRE PLAYERS- Last round of December before Christmas and players in January.

So lets name some of the players to give our readers some of idea of the standard.
Ross Di Vita & Manny Rahat (sec 7) are in the 2 player comp partnering their sons.
Maria + Bradley Wilson sec 7 are playing- Brad with girl friend Tamra.
Ali Z Dan + Scruffy from section 7 also having good match practice over Summer

Section 6 Regulars- Louise Yilch Dave + Donna Tweed are also playing

this is a good comp but we do need replacements -matches start at 7 and are completed by 8-3pm so if you want to be a part of it talk to the manager when next at the club .
